One of my all time favourites, this friendly looking western building.

Pirates have been around in Playmobil sets for decades, despite we are missing a theme dedicated to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise. This small set of characters fills the gap between the traditional pirates adventure themes and the more recent stories about cursed crews of undead. My son is a Ghosbusters fan and I bought these pirates to let him have some more ghosts to deal with, but he also got a pirate ship for his birthday, so that we now have a full cross contamination of genres!

It's amazing and your collection will be better off with it.

Got new Dwarf Sets as Father's Day presents! These Dwarf sets remind me a lot of the Dwarfs from GW's Warhammer figures. Playmobil seems to be creating a wonderful series of wargaming figures that can be used with the GW Warhammer rules. Playmobil has produced a beautiful dwarf warrior series! The dwarf glider is exceptional. (Would have loved to have had that pilot's helmet years ago for Playmobil's First World War biplanes.)

My children love to play with the Take Along Zoo & Aquarium. I bought it for my youngest when he was 18 months and he had a great time playing with animals and the people. When opened, the two pieces do not lock together but we haven't had any issues with them coming apart during play. The tree is a bit difficult to set up for the younger ones (including my 5 year old daughter). The water streaming from the tree doesn't quite go into the pool as advertised... it spreads all over the place. Nonetheless this is a favourite at our house.

This particular add-on set to the Egyptian theme is quite good in its presentation of what a typical Egyptian house looked like. Your average sun dried mud brick square shaped 1-2 room internal layout house. The external well with a shaduf water retrieval system is very cute. But the tomb robbers are anachronistic because there were no black clothed ancient Egyptians. The black clothed modern Arab type figures are more apropos in the last 200 years. The ancient Egyptian commoners would have worn loincloths(men) and white tunics(women). But overall the 4246 set is a very good one to add to your Egyptian collection.
